The May 15th meeting speaker is Pat Vesper with the National Weather Service.  He is the Severe Warning Coordinator for the Midland office of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. (Yes, I know that I had him listed for the April meeting, he was sick and unable to give the program; so he was rescheduled for May.) He has a B.S. degree in meteorology and a minor in math from the University of Oklahoma in 1989.  Pat has worked in this field for 17 years and has worked in Brownsville, Lubbock and in Midland since 1999.

The meeting will be held at the Eleganté Hotel with the buffet line opens at 11:40, and the meeting will start at 12 noon.  The cost of the meal is $15.  For those of you who use a company credit card, we have some good news.  You can use it to pay for your meetings.  Click on the PayPal logo below and then bring the receipt to the meeting.

New Mexico State Flag   The NM Section meets the first Thursday of the month at the Iron Skillet, in Hobbs at 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.  The May 1st meeting topic is "OSHA Oilfield  Inspection ".  The speaker is Kelly Stevenson who is with the New Mexico OSHA Department.

NM OSHA is offering some more free training at the Jr. College in Hobbs on April 8th (oil and gas) and April 9th (construction).  The instructor is Dino Franco.  He has a lot of experience in construction, and will be familiar with rigs before the training starts.   He has a lot of energy and is bilingual.

We really need to fill these classes in order to continue funding.  This training meets some of the Safe Site Requirements.

If you are interested you can register (which is required) by calling Eddie Dominquez at the Santa Fe office - 505-476-8700.  He is gone a lot, so they may have to leave a message.
